ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of and being accountable for driving Environmental Health &ampamp Safety performance through developing, implementing, and continually improving EH&ampampS programs, practices, and proceduresCoordinate with plant and divisional EH&ampampS Associates to ensure risk management and confidence in compliance with EH&ampampS requirements while meeting operational and business needs training and coaching associates in their EH&ampampS related practices, as well as mentoring and supporting the site EH&ampampS teamsTrain and coach associates in their EH&ampampS related practices, as well as mentor and support the site EH&ampampS teams Drive EH&ampampS risk assessments for processes and equipment, including prioritization, development, and implementation of appropriate controlsCollect, analyze, and report EH&ampampS metricsPartner with the global EH&ampampS team as appropriate to drive alignment and integrationDrive incident investigations to identify root cause and corrective/preventive actionsEngage and participate in new-product development teams early in the design process to ensure ergonomic principles, safety controls, etc., are incorporated into designPartner with Occupational Health for effective case management involving injured/ill associatesIdentify and understand appropriate regulations and participate in compliance-gap analysis while acting as a point of contact with various regulatory agencies, consultants, contractors, attorneys, etcRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related field (e.g.: Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Public Health) plus a minimum of 5 years ' EH&ampampS experienceExperience in a manufacturing, chemical processing, or laboratory environmentSuccess in identifying, assessing, and controlling EH&ampampS risk and implement practical and effective risk-reduction solutionsOrganizational priority-setting skills, attention to detail, follow-through, effective written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of chemical hazards and ability to communicate associated health riskKnowledgeable in one or more areas of environmental laws and regulations. Proven problem solving skills including incident investigation and root cause analysisAbility to build consensus and influence a diverse group of Associates in safe behaviors and practices.Ability to work independently, contribute within a team, and actively engage and partner with manufacturing and technical AssociatesWork off-shift hours, if needed, and travel up to 10Desired Qualifications Professional Certification by a recognized entity, registered safety engineer certificate is a plusExperience in a manufacturing or laboratory environmentKnowledge of: EH&ampampS management systems (ISO14001, 45001) and/or EH&ampampS related consensus standards and industry best practices
